Mr Pete Allen leads Vizient’s™ sourcing and contracting operations, including its programmatic offerings, specialty sourcing activities and Apexus, the exclusive contractor for the 340B Drug Pricing Program, managed by the U.S. Health Resources and Service Administration. He leads teams focused on driving quality, efficiency and cost performance across the care continuum.

Previously, Mr Allen served as Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing. Earlier, he held the position of Group Senior Vice President of Sourcing Operations for Novation, now part of Vizient. In this role, he led the strategic direction and daily operations of the company’s contracting and program services including pharmacy, purchased services, strategic sourcing, lab, food, facilities, corporate, research and business products, capital, physician preference and imaging, custom contracting, medical/surgical, and medical/surgical distribution and led supplier and member relations.

Mr Allen has more than 24 years of health care supply chain experience. His areas of expertise include: cross functional management areas, profit and loss responsibility, marketing, sales management, distribution management, new product development and people development.

Prior to joining Novation, Mr Allen served in numerous positions at BD Medical. He also spent five years with Kimberly-Clark Corporation, where he was responsible for national accounts and global healthcare marketing.

Since 2000, Mr Allen has been an active fundraiser, medical team leader, volunteer and member of the board of directors for the Project Perfect World Foundation, a non-profit charity dedicated to improving the lives of children in the developing countries.

Mr Allen earned a Master of Business Administration degree in Marketing and International Business from the University of Texas, and a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Pennsylvania State University.
