Professor Kenneth Kwek is the Chief Executive Officer of KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH).  He is passionate about improving the quality of patient care and achieving the best clinical outcomes through innovation at Singapore’s largest and only hospital dedicated to women’s and children’s health.

Prior to his appointment as CEO, Kenneth was the Chairman of the Medical Board in KKH and concurrently Head and Senior Consultant of the Department of Maternal Fetal Medicine where he led a team active in obstetric research.  His clinical interests centre around care for high risk pregnancies, particularly preterm labour and delivery, pre-eclampsia as well as post partum hemorrhage.

As a strong advocate of Academic Medicine and Clinical Quality, he places a high priority on innovation and education to improve the quality of care delivered to improve the lives of patients.

Innovation takes many forms.  Apart from cutting edge translational research, process innovation must be harnessed to enhance the safety and reliability of clinical care.  Education, training and communication are key to build alignment within the organisations to ensure everyone grasps their individual responsibility for the different dimensions of Clinical Quality.
