Mr Dhaval Buch is the Chief Procurement Officer in Unilever with responsibility for all procurement across the company.

Prior to this, he was the Senior Vice President – Supply Chain for Asia and Africa. In this role he also headed up Unilever Engineering Services which is responsible for executing all capital expenditure. He also spent a year in London as the Senior Vice President of Supply Chain Strategy, working alongside Unilever’s Chief Supply Chain Officer.

Mr Buch began his career with Unilever in India as a Management Trainee in Supply Chain and took on several factory and engineering roles. He has spent 6 years in  roles outside the Supply Chain during which he ran the Household Care business for Unilever India and led a couple of New Ventures.

His last role in India (before moving to London) was as Vice President Supply Chain for South Asia. Mr Buch graduated with a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, India. 

Synopsis
In 2014, Unilever Procurement produced their new Strategy, Procurement 2020. This built on the Unilever Partner to Win strategy originating from 2011, but developed this further to incorporate the learnings of the previous 3 years, updating some of the key pillars and generating specific targets to be reached by 2020.

The presentation will describe the 5 pillars of the Strategy, the targets and also feature our drive towards Quality and Service Excellence. Dhaval will also discuss how Procurement is working with both its Internal and External partners to give the strategy every chance of success.
