CHERN Siang Jye is presently Chief Corporate Officer of the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC), where he oversees the Corporate Services and Strategy Division, comprising Human Resources, Finance, Corporate and Marketing Communications, Corporate and Strategy Development for AIC, and the Intermediate and Long-Term Care People Excellence Office (ILTC-PEO).

The AIC is an agency under Ministry of Health (MOH) set up to promote care integration across the healthcare continuum, with particular emphasis on strengthening the community care sectors), whilst the ILTC-PEO supports talent acquisition, management and development to strengthen leadership bench strength for the ILTC sector. Siang Jye was previously Director, Strategic Planning and Development in MOH where he oversaw the planning and development of healthcare infrastructure, including the new Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, which opened in 2010 and the Ng Teng Fong General Hospital and Jurong Community Hospital, which are currently being built, and the range of developments for national specialty centres, nursing homes and public sector primary care polyclinics.

Prior to Ministry of Health, Siang Jye was Director Strategic Planning and Director Intellectual Property - International Cooperation at the Ministry of Law. As Director Strategic Planning, Siang Jye worked with the Legal Aid Bureau and the Law Society to encourage volunteerism and introduced pro-bono legal clinics at the community level. He also worked with the Insolvency Office to introduce a new Debt Repayment Scheme to assist those in debt with alternative modes of repayment, instead of bankruptcy. As Director Intellectual Property - International Cooperation, he negotiated the intellectual property chapters in Singapore's Free Trade Agreements and participated in multi-lateral negotiations and cooperation fora with the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO), World Trade Organisation (WTO) and ASEAN IP offices.

Siang Jye started his public service career with the Singapore Economic Development Board managing bilateral strategic projects in the Riau Islands of Indonesia and promoting the growth of the Infocomm Security sector in Singapore. Siang Jye has a Bachelors in Economics from the London School of Economics and a Masters of Economics from McGill University in Quebec.
