Presentation Synopsis
Building Resiliency in Food Supply Chain

The world’s supply chain has been fully stretched due to Covid-19. Prior to “30 by 30” Vision, Singapore imports 90% of our food from 170 countries at more than US$5B annually. In ensuring our supply lines are not interrupted, Singapore took on a WoS approach that includes opening up green lanes of air and sea connectivity among countries. Besides establishing that food produce can come in, the efforts to have the local supply chain to be able to quickly transload them, move them to the warehouse before quickly distributing to the various retail outlets, are equally important to ensure no empty shelves situations.

While FairPrice Group (FPG) has done well to support the government, we have taken a quick decision to create a new Supply Chain Business Unit (FPG SC) as a fifth Business Unit to provide the focus in supply chain to support not just internal tribes and B2B/B2C customers, but also the Whole-of-Government. We leverage our FPG’s core capabilities in Buy-Store-Turn and our thought leadership in Supply Chain leveraging data and analytics to bring greater value to all. In this Webinar, we will share with you how FPG SC set up her journey to be a 5G Supply Chain Outfit to position ourselves today and tomorrow as part of the FPG commitment to ensure resiliency in the food supply chain for Singapore.
