Presentation Synopsis
A journey: Establishing a new National Procurement Service for the New Zealand Health Sector

National Procurement Service was established in May 2017. What lessons can be learnt from establishing a new National Procurement Service in a non-mandated, tender driven environment? We will deep dive into our journey and share our procurement strategies, operating model and implementation processes. Where are we now after 14 months and what are the next steps?

Procurement down under - two different models, two different outcomes?

A closer look at the health procurement leadership, governance, management and outcomes in New Zealand and Australia, and the lessons from both. What are the cultural drivers and constraints, geographic and other, and how do these impact on value delivered to the health sector? What are the pros and cons of a mandated system (Australia) versus a non-mandated environment where influence is the key drive (New Zealand). In New Zealand, we are trying to change the way we think about Procurement with a strong focus on the Procurement Lifecycle. How is it going and what are the lessons?
