Presentation Synopsis
To Survive Is To Thrive - Understand The Impact of Our Well-Being on Patient Experience and Have A Hands-On Practice on Managing Difficult Emotions

The workforce well-being and excellent patient experience are intertwined. There is a strong business case to be made for the compounding effect of improved staff and patient experience on an organisation’s performance. Hence to survive in a VUCA (volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity) environment, we have to ensure that we as individuals and our teams thrive. A/Prof Phua will share his vision and strategies to promote a positive and joyful work culture and environment in SingHealth and how that will drive better patient experience.
In addition, A/Prof Yap will share with us the techniques for recognising and meeting some of the difficult emotions we experience in our personal and work lives. She will also lead participants in a practice to respond compassionately to ourselves when facing difficult emotions.
