Mr Lim Hock Leng is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Institute of Mental Health (IMH), a member of the National Healthcare Group (NHG). He assumed the role in April 2013.

Mr Lim guides and directs the hospital operations, comprising ambulatory services, support services, allied health and education and research services at IMH. The hospital has 1,950 beds and cares for more than 40,000 outpatients. Mr Lim also oversees customer service, productivity and innovation, IT and information management at IMH. As IMH’s Data Protection Officer, he is responsible for establishing data governance and strategies to safeguard hospital and patient data. Mr Lim is also a member of the NHG Senior Management and is actively involved in NHG projects and initiatives.

Prior to joining NHG/IMH, Mr Lim drove the strategic intent of transformation and simplification for business partner organizations in growth market units to aid in the ease of doing business with IBM. Mr Lim successfully implemented the new sales blueprint in ASEAN, focusing on small deals and geo-expansion. Before joining IBM, Mr Lim was the President Director of PT SembCorp Logistics/PT Toll Indonesia, where he was responsible for business start-ups, managing key clients and joint venture relationships.

Mr Lim graduated with a Bachelor in Engineering from National University of Singapore, obtained a Masters in Advanced Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College, DIC (Advanced Mechanical Engineering) and a MBA in International Business from Nanyang Business School where he graduated with recognition on the Dean’s Honours List.
