Mr Eugene Sim is currently serving as a member of the Patient Identity Integrity workgroup under the SingHealth Data Governance committee. He has helped with the implementation of various measures to ensure patient contact details collected by the SingHealth cluster are accurate and up-to-date. One example is “Personal Profile”, a feature within Health Buddy that allows patients to update contact details.

One key aspect of his work revolves around waiting time to appointments, a strategic metric monitored by SGH, SingHealth and MOH. Mr Sim achieves this by working closely with clinical heads of departments and utilizing lead and lag measures to help better plan and utilize resources.

He was also part of the main SOC planning team for the Losartan drug recall in March 2019. He had led his team to create a method to track and monitor the status of each affected patient accurately.

Lastly, he worked with Finance and Business Office in SGH to implement a new service called Drop and Go, allowing patients to leave after their outpatient consultation. The patients receive their bill and appointments via mail and are able to pay their bills via off-site payment methods. This had helped manage the waiting times for the clinic cashiers and is more convenient for patients as they are able to utilize options like mobile pay.
