Ms Tan Su Shan joined DBS Bank in June 2010. She is currently Group Head, Consumer Banking & Wealth Management. She also serves as the President Commissioner for PT Bank DBS Indonesia. Prior to joining DBS, Su Shan worked for a number of global banks including Citi Private Bank, Morgan Stanley and ING Barings Securities in Singapore, Hong Kong, London and Tokyo. 

Ms Tan was a Nominated Member of Parliament in Singapore from 2012 to 2014. She was the founder and past president of the Financial Women’s Association in Singapore, and a board member of Aetos Holdings Pte Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Temasek Holdings. She also sits on the investment committee of MOH Holdings Pte Ltd. In addition, Ms Tan is co-chairman of the Monetary Authority of Singapore Private Banking Industry Group. In 2016, Ms Tan was appointed chairman of NETS and Independent Non-Executive director of Mapletree Greater China Commercial Trust. 

Married with two children, Ms Tan is also actively involved in fundraising for various Singaporean charities and sits on the board of Singapore’s KK Hospital Health Endowment Fund, which provides financial support to needy patients. She was a board member of the National Museum and a member of the International Women’s Foundation and the Young Presidents Organisation. On the education front, she is an advisor to Hwa Chong Institution, Lincoln College and Oxford University. She is also a member of the Singapore Management University Board of Trustees. 

Ms Tan graduated with a Master of Arts from Oxford University in the United Kingdom, where she studied Politics, Philosophy and Economics. In 2013, Ms Tan was named “Outstanding Private Banker of the Year” by Private Banker International, the first time an Asian has won this global award since its inception 20 years ago. In 2014, she became the first Singaporean to be recognised as the world’s “Best Leader in Private Banking” by PWM and The Banker, a leading wealth publication by the Financial Times Group. In 2015, Ms Tan was recognised as “Private Banker of the Year, Singapore” by The Asset.
