Dr Jamie Mervyn Lim is Chief Operating Officer at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH). He oversees the daily operations of the 1,600-bed hospital; covering a wide range of portfolios from specialists outpatient clinics, bed management unit, business development to service support areas such as environmental services and IT. The Operations Division also supports clinical departments in the day-to-day administration and projects implementation. 

A strong advocate of systems thinking, Dr Lim introduced a systems-based approach in managing key resources at TTSH. He incorporated Systems Dynamics thinking and artificial intelligence, coupled with real time visual management dashboards to the Bed Management Unit. He is also spearheading the development of a Command, Control and Communications (C3) system in the Novena campus. Dr Lim has chaired hospital level committees leading the transformation of the clinics and the wards, which were recognised locally and regionally for their best practices. 

A peoples' advocate; he is deeply involved in job redesign for hospital staff, specifically in redefining job roles to add more meaning to one’s work in the organisation. In the recent years, Dr Lim has also been driving value-based strategy at TTSH to create and deliver value to both patients and staff. He also chairs the National Healthcare Group’s Productivity and Innovation Committee. 

Dr Lim graduated from King's College London, UK under a government scholarship and attended Wharton Business School. He pursued his doctorate in the area of Physiology at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Professionally, he has authored a book chapter in the area of Sports Physiology and also has journal publications to his name.
