Presentation Synopsis
Information Security Operations and the Advanced Persistent Threat
The Advanced Persistent Threat (or APT) is the name given to sophisticated “low and slow” state-sponsored hacking units that target advanced economies around the world. China, Russia, North Korea, and Iran have all been implicated in these attacks. Healthcare has seen significant APT activity in recent years, and now during the Covid-19 emergency, APT hackers are targeting institutions around the world involved in the global response to the pandemic. We will discuss the nature of the threat, and common-sense steps we can all use to help protect our institutions.
