Presentation Synopsis
Two Sides Of The Same Coin – ERM & Clinical Quality Innovation

Risk management is defined as ‘the systematic application of management policies, procedures and practices to the tasks of analysing, evaluating, controlling and monitoring risk’ (ISO).  Healthcare organisations have a responsibility to ensure the health and safety of their patients.  Assessment of clinical risk enables organisations to identify hazards involving clinical processes that are directly or indirectly related to the patient. This will allow them to make an informed decision on the mitigating measures required to minimise risk, thereby enhancing patient care.
