Presentation Synopsis
Creating a Safety Culture

An effective and sustainable safety culture extends beyond patient safety and permeates all areas of the organisation. It builds on the organisation’s mission, vision and values and starts with the question of “What is best for our patients and our colleagues?”. A just and learning culture builds on this foundation and is essential in creating a safe space for staff to speak up, listen to each other and learn and grow. A just and learning culture also builds trust in each other and the organisation, which in turn promotes safety.
