Associate Professor SEOW Wan Tew

A/Prof Seow is a practising paediatric neurosurgeon and has been looking after children with neurosurgical diseases for the past 20 years. He is the Director of Quality Management and Institution Risk Officer at the National Neuroscience Institute (NNI).  He is also concurrently the Director of Medical Risk Management at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH). Working with the Medical Affair Dept at KKH, A/Prof Seow is instrumental in developing and conducting the medical risk management programmes for its doctors. He is actively involved in the review of the hospital’s potential medico-legal cases.
 
As NNI’s Director of Quality Management and Institution Risk Officer, A/Prof Seow oversees the clinical quality assurance and Enterprise Risk Management programmes to enhance patient safety respectively. A/Prof Seow is on the Board of the Singapore Medical Association (SMA) Centre for Medical Ethics & Professionalism, as well as the SMA Academy and is a member of its teaching faculty. He is also an Associate Mediator with the Singapore Mediation Centre

A/Prof Seow is the President Elect of the ASEAN Neurosurgery Society, and Secretary of the Asian Australasian Society of Neurological Surgeons - influential professional organizations whose aims are to improve standards of practice in every aspect of neurosurgery through professional exchange among neurosurgeons within ASEAN and Asia Australasia. He was also the past Chair of the By-laws and Audit Committees, and currently a member of the Education Committee of the International Society for Pediatric Neurosurgery, the world society for paediatric neurosurgeons.
