Ms Laurel L. JUNK

Laurel joined Kaiser Permanente in early 2009 as Vice President of Finance Operation’s Supply Chain team. In this role, Laurel is directly responsible for the continuity of supply across Kaiser Permanente as well as rolling out a transformative supply chain  strategy that meets the needs of patients and members as well as delivers tremendous value, including continuous process and cost improvement as Kaiser Permanente continues to fully integrate clinical and supply chain information towards better comparative effectiveness analyses and better understanding of the quality of the products and services that are used by clinicians.

Laurel is a founding member of the Healthcare Transformation Group (HTG), a voluntary supply chain coalition that includes Mayo Clinic, Geisinger Health System,  Intermountain Health, and Sisters of Mercy.  This coalition is actively engaging in the support of positive change throughout the healthcare industry.  Laurel was also named “2011 Contract Professional of the Year” by the Journal of Healthcare Contracting.

Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente, Laurel held the position of Vice President, Supply Chain and Contract Manufacturing for Amgen. In this capacity Laurel was responsible for Amgen's global supply chain management across all facilities, including planning, forecasting, inventory management, strategic capacity planning, raw materials and service parts, data management, risk management, brand protection, business continuity, global distribution/transportation/warehousing, import/export controls and compliance, and all external contract manufacturing for bulk and finished goods. This included both clinical and commercial product supply chains.

Previously, Laurel was the Worldwide Vice President of Supply Chain for Johnson & Johnson's Medical Devices and Diagnostic Group. She has also held various leadership positions for a range of companies including IVAC, Unisys, and Eli Lilly. Additionally, she is a certified Six-Sigma black belt.

Laurel has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota-Institute of Technology and an MBA from Duke University.
