Associate Professor LOW Cheng Ooi

 
A/Prof Low Cheng Ooi is an orthopaedic surgeon. He graduated from the University of Singapore in 1980 and obtained his FRCS (Glas) in 1985 & FAMS (Ortho) in 1989. He was the Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery at Changi General Hospital (CGH) from February 2002 to September 2007. He was the Chairman, Medical Board, of CGH, from October 2007 till September 2012.
 
A/Prof Low is a member of the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) and The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS). He was the Chief Medical Informatics Officer of Singhealth from 1 September 2008 till 30 June 2012 . He was responsible for rolling out the EMR in the cluster. 

Since 8 June 2012 , A/Prof Low is the Chief Medical Informatics Officer of the Singapore Ministry of Health (MOH) and MOH Holdings where he is involved in policy development and use of healthcare informatics standards within the healthcare sector .
