Ms Irene QUAY

Ms Irene Quay is the Chief Pharmacist at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH).  She is currently heading the Pharmacy Department in the area of medication safety, clinical quality and audit as well as development of clinical research and training for her fellow pharmacists. 

She is a ACCP Board certified oncology pharmacist specialist. Her special interest lies in the area of safety in prescribing, dispensing and administration of chemotherapy. 

She is actively involved in a number of committees in hospital and cluster levels including KKH Patient Safety Council, Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee, Medication Safety and JCI Core Committee in KKH as well as Medication Safety Committee, CLMM Core Clinical Decision Taskforce (CCDT), IT Cluster Strategy Committee and Medication Reconcilation Workgroup in Singhealth. 

She is a key player in the implementation of Close Loop Medication Management (CLMM) in KKH which consists of electronic inpatient ordering, 24 hours pharmacist verification, Inpatient Pharmacy Automation System (IPAS) and Knowledge-Based Medication Administration (KBMA) in 2010.
