Mr Benjamin Ethan Lim is an Executive from the Operations Department of Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH). He graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in International Relations and a Bachelor of Law (LLB).

Mr Lim started his career in KTPH as an Operations Executive supporting Inpatient Services. There, he served as the secretariat of the Discharge Command Centre, supporting the multi-disciplinary team in planning for complex patient discharges. This team oversaw the decrease in the number of long-staying patients by more than 50%. Mr Lim was also part of the team that looked into optimising the flow of patients between Khoo Teck Puat Hospital and other healthcare institutions.

Mr Lim currently supports the operational needs of the Acute and Emergency Care Centre (A&E). He is involved with on-going projects to improve the operational productivity in the A&E. These initiatives include the setting up of the Acute Geriatric Assessment Unit, which serves to provide specialised Geriatric Care upfront at the Extended Diagnostic Treatment Unit. Mr Lim is also part of the workgroup which looks into optimising care for walk-in patients at the A&E through analysing data to inform the team on the efficacy of strategies that have been implemented.

Presently, Mr Lim is involved in the setting up of a system in the A&E that looks at empaneling patient care. This system, when successfully implemented, will allow a patient’s care plan to flow seamlessly between each stage of a patient’s care journey.
